Paradise Found, But with a Few Irritants

This stunning hotel in Imi Ouadar truly feels like a slice of heaven, but some minor issues marred our experience.

A Few Minor Blips

Oh, the breakfast buffet. It was a complete disaster! The sausages were inedible, the salad was spoiled, and the coffee was undrinkable (we had to buy overpriced coffee from the bar). Talk about a disappointing start to the day! Sadly, the room cleaning service was equally lackluster. We had to repeatedly ask the maid to come back and finish the job. This was a frustrating experience.

A Gem on the Moroccan Coast

This beautiful hotel more than met our needs. The beach area is a sight to behold, with its rows of comfy sun loungers and the soothing sounds of the waves. It’s a short, picturesque walk from the hotel. Throughout the day, local vendors wander through the beach area selling tasty treats like tea, nuts, doughnuts, and ice cream. They’re respectful and disappear quickly if you politely wave them away. The hotel staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. You’ll find delicious breakfast buffets on par with other top-notch hotels we’ve stayed at.

For a change of pace, try the local restaurants near the hotel or enjoy the street food vendors, offering everything from bread to traditional Moroccan pastries. The evenings are lively, with a bustling atmosphere. We loved exploring the local scene!

The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to Agadir, and taxis are readily available. The nearby town of Taghazout is a must-visit for its restaurants and shops. It’s only a short drive away. While this hotel is perfect for a peaceful getaway, it’s not ideal for those seeking a bustling holiday.

A Family-Friendly Oasis

We spent a wonderful week as a family of five in the spacious prestige suite. The extra bed for our toddler was a welcome addition. The suite boasted a large living room, dining area, and a terrace with a comfortable table and chairs. We loved the separate twin and king-sized bedrooms. The suite was immaculate and incredibly spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen that made it easy to cook our own meals.

The buffet breakfast was a delight, with an egg station where you could order any egg dish imaginable, from omelets to poached eggs. Fresh juices, cereals, breads, pastries, fruit, and traditional Moroccan delights were also abundant. We thoroughly enjoyed the wide selection. The hotel has several restaurants, and we were impressed with the quality of food, presentation, and value. Room service was an affordable treat, and we loved the option of ordering meals from different restaurants.

The outdoor pool was a refreshing oasis, with a separate baby pool for our little one. A pleasant stroll through the resort leads you to the beach. Sun loungers are readily available, both on the beach and around the pool. Check-in and check-out were seamless. The staff, however, is the true jewel of this hotel. They are incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially towards children. Every request was handled promptly and with a warm smile. This hotel has a laid-back atmosphere, so it’s not the ideal choice if you’re looking for a lively party vibe.

A Perfect Getaway for Families

We were seeking some winter sun with our 4-month-old baby, and Morocco proved to be the perfect destination. The weather was warm but not too hot, and the flight was manageable. This hotel was simply impeccable. I thoroughly enjoyed the yoga classes, while my husband took up surfing and his parents enjoyed long walks along the beach.

The breakfast was exceptional, and we especially loved the fresh eggs cooked to perfection. The food served at the hotel’s restaurants and bars was delicious. We didn’t venture out much into the surrounding area, finding everything we needed within the hotel.

We did, however, drive to Taghazout one day, and honestly, it wasn’t our cup of tea. The hotel’s food was divine but a bit pricey, so we often cooked in our apartment using ingredients bought from local stores. This was a welcome option. However, on the one occasion we ate outside the hotel, my mother-in-law unfortunately got food poisoning. The stray cats in the area were also a bit of a nuisance, though they mostly kept to themselves inside the hotel. However, the cats at restaurants outside the hotel and in town could be quite persistent, making dining unpleasant.

The hotel’s spa was a haven of relaxation, and I enjoyed a couple of treatments as a new mom.

A Disappointing Experience

While the hotel itself is beautiful, the staff left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately, they made every request feel like an insurmountable task, from checking in to ordering drinks and paying for meals. It seemed the only way to get their attention was by heavily tipping them, which we were not comfortable with. We did leave a generous tip, but it felt like a necessity rather than a gesture of appreciation. Sadly, our holiday ended up being £20 lighter without receiving the kind of service we expected.
