Escape to a Japanese Oasis in the Heart of Tokyo

Embark on a journey of rejuvenation and tranquility at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, where the magic of hot springs meets the modern luxury of a city oasis. Prepare to immerse yourself in the rich Japanese hot spring culture, renowned for its healing and beautifying properties, without leaving the bustling metropolis.

Unwind in the Heart of the City

Japan, a land of captivating volcanic landscapes, is famous for its abundance of onsen – natural hot springs. These mineral-rich waters are believed to possess therapeutic benefits for both body and mind. At Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, you can experience the bliss of onsen bathing without venturing far from the city.

YU, THE SPA, our hotel’s award-winning spa facility, offers a sanctuary of relaxation and rejuvenation. Guests can indulge in the soothing embrace of hot spring baths, sourced from the renowned onsen city of Ito in the Izu Peninsula.

The alkaline hot spring water, gentle on the skin and rich in minerals, is said to alleviate muscle pain, chronic joint pain, fatigue, insomnia, stress, and even improve digestive function.

Beyond the invigorating hot springs, YU, THE SPA boasts a range of amenities designed to enhance your well-being, including a spa treatment facility, an indoor pool, a sauna, and a fitness gym. This oasis of relaxation is reserved exclusively for hotel guests, spa club members, and visitors who book spa treatments.

A Symphony of Sensations: Spa Treatments and Exquisite Cuisine

After a blissful soak in the hot springs, unwind in the spa lounge, where a complimentary drink awaits. The cozy atmosphere will lull you into a state of blissful serenity.

To fully embrace the therapeutic benefits of onsen bathing, consider pairing your experience with a revitalizing spa treatment. YU, THE SPA offers a wide selection of facials and full-body treatments, each designed to leave you feeling deeply relaxed and rejuvenated.

While a day visit to enjoy the hot springs and treatments is a delightful option, we highly recommend a leisurely overnight stay at the hotel. This allows you to fully immerse yourself in the tranquil atmosphere, explore the expansive garden, and savor the refined cuisine at our renowned restaurants.

The Urban Oasis Stay package, available until December 28, 2023, is the perfect choice for guests seeking a complete wellness retreat. This package includes access to all the spa facilities – the pool, hot springs, sauna, and fitness gym – and accommodation in a Superior Room with citygarden views.

Indulge your palate with a luxurious kaiseki cuisine course at Ryotei Kinsui, our elegant Japanese restaurant. Each dish is a masterpiece, crafted with the finest seasonal ingredients and presented with meticulous care, a true celebration of Japanese culinary artistry.

Embrace the Japanese Hot Spring Etiquette

Japan’s rich hot spring culture is deeply rooted in tradition, and with it comes a distinct bathing etiquette.

Before entering the hot spring bath, it is customary to undress and leave your belongings in the designated lockers or baskets. At YU, THE SPA, you can use the provided towels to dry yourself after bathing.

Next, head to the showers located near the hot spring bath and thoroughly cleanse your body with the provided soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Our spa features high-quality amenities, ensuring a luxurious experience.

Enter the hot spring bath carefully, ensuring that you are thoroughly clean. The water temperature is maintained at a comfortable 41.5 degrees Celsius. However, guests with sensitive skin may want to adjust gradually to the heat.

The recommended soak time is approximately three minutes for your initial entry. To prolong your enjoyment, take a short shower before re-entering the hot spring. Prolonged immersion can lead to nausea and fatigue, so be mindful of your time, especially if you are prone to anemia.

After emerging from the hot springs, take a refreshing shower and head to the dressing room. The provided hair dryers and complimentary lotions and toners will help you complete your spa ritual.

Enjoy a Japanese Onsen Experience

In Japan, the tradition is to bathe before dinner. This not only allows you to fully savor your meal in a relaxed state but also ensures a safe and enjoyable experience.

It is strongly discouraged to enter the hot springs after consuming alcohol, as it can lead to heat-related issues.

Similarly, avoid bathing with a full stomach. It is recommended to dedicate an hour before dinner to your hot spring ritual.

Embrace the tranquil ambiance of our garden, a serene retreat where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll in the evening or morning hours. At night, the garden is illuminated by a thousand twinkling lights, creating a magical atmosphere. The Tokyo Sea of Clouds, a mesmerizing mist that engulfs the garden several times a day, adds to the ethereal beauty of this space.

At Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, we believe in the transformative power of hot springs and spa treatments. Experience the bliss of onsen bathing and a wealth of spa treatments in our urban oasis, a sanctuary of relaxation and rejuvenation.
