A Convenient Stay at Hotel Villa Fontaine Haneda Airport: A Review

Do you need a place to stay near Haneda Airport in Tokyo? Hotel Villa Fontaine Haneda Airport is a massive hotel located directly within Terminal 3, offering a convenient stay for travelers. This review will guide you through the hotel’s features, amenities, and what you can expect during your stay.

A Hotel within a Hotel: Grand vs Premier

Hotel Villa Fontaine Haneda Airport is actually two hotels in one. The Grand section, with its 1,551 rooms, is a budget-friendly option for travelers looking for a simple place to stay. However, if you prefer a more luxurious experience, the Premier section, with its 166 rooms, offers larger spaces and premium amenities.

The Grand section rooms are smaller, starting at 18 square meters (194 square feet), while the Premier section rooms are significantly larger, starting at 33 square meters (355 square feet). The Premier section also boasts upgraded amenities like Keurig coffee machines and premium toiletries.

A Convenient Stay with Some Quirks

My one-night stay at the Grand section cost approximately $180, which, although not cheap, was worth it for the convenience of being directly connected to the airport. It allowed me to walk straight from my hotel room to my gate without stepping outside.

The hotel offers some conveniences, like a 24/7 Lawson convenience store located just outside the entrance, making it easy to grab a snack or coffee at any time. However, there were also some quirks to the experience.

The check-in kiosks, while designed for efficiency, presented some difficulties with my foreign credit card. The Wi-Fi access code was also hidden on the TV, which was initially set to Japanese, requiring a bit of effort to navigate.

The rooms, though compact, are functional for solo travelers. The amenities were basic but included a queen-sized bed, a wall-mounted TV, a kettle for making coffee or tea, and robes for using the onsen.

One unique feature is the glass shield separating the bedroom from the bathroom, which might seem odd to some.

Amenities and Facilities

Hotel Villa Fontaine Haneda Airport boasts a variety of amenities, including a gym, a spa, and an open-air, rooftop onsen.

The gym, while not open 24/7, is a decent space with a focus on cardio.

The spa, including the onsen, is open 24/7, except for cleaning time. Hotel guests can access the onsen for a fee of 2,000 JPY (~$14), while non-guests have to pay 4,800 JPY (~$32).

Final Thoughts

Hotel Villa Fontaine Haneda Airport is a solid choice for travelers seeking a convenient and well-located hotel near the airport. While the rooms are on the smaller side and the experience has some quirks, the convenience of being directly connected to the airport and the availability of amenities like the onsen make it a worthwhile option for a short stay.

Whether you’re looking for a budget-friendly stay in the Grand section or a more luxurious experience in the Premier section, Hotel Villa Fontaine Haneda Airport offers a comfortable and convenient base for exploring Tokyo.
