Tokyo Disneyland is a wonderland of thrilling rides and captivating shows. With so much to experience, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed trying to fit everything into one day. Thankfully, the park offers a free FastPass system, now known as Priority Pass, helping you navigate the crowds and maximize your time. Let’s explore which attractions offer the most value when using Priority Pass and how to make the most of this incredible perk!
Understanding Priority Pass at Tokyo Disneyland
Priority Pass is a free offering at Tokyo Disneyland, allowing you to skip the lines at select attractions. The park’s 40th anniversary celebration has made Priority Pass even more popular. While this system is currently free, keep in mind that this perk might change in the future, just like its counterpart in the United States. We can only hope that this nostalgic and helpful system will continue to offer guests a convenient way to experience the park.
Before diving into the attractions, let’s clear up some terminology. Not everything is free at Tokyo Disneyland! A few attractions have a “pay-to-skip-the-line” feature called Disney Premier Access This is similar to the Individual Lightning Lanes offered at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. For example, Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast requires a 2,000 yen fee to access. While not free, these paid options can be beneficial if you have limited time at the park. Consider purchasing Premier Access for Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast or another ride before the parades, as there’s plenty of seating available, and they offer a fun and free alternative.
Speaking of terminology, remember that Priority Pass is the new name for what was previously known as FastPass. While the name has changed, the concept remains the same: a way to avoid long lines and experience more attractions. You can book your Priority Passes using the Tokyo Disney Resort app . Link your group’s tickets to the app and click on the Priority Pass button under “My Plan” as soon as the park opens. You can book your first experience and then book another Priority Pass 120 minutes later, or after your last Priority Pass starts, whichever comes first. You can even get a Priority Pass for the same attraction twice!
Once you have your Priority Pass, simply show the code at the entrance of the attraction to the Cast Members. They will scan the code, and you’re ready to enjoy the ride! It’s that easy!
Ranking Tokyo Disneyland’s Priority Pass Attractions
Tokyo Disneyland currently offers six attractions that utilize the Priority Pass system. This lineup is impressive compared to Tokyo DisneySea’s offerings. We’ll rank these attractions from least to most worthwhile to utilize your Priority Pass on, based on their popularity, wait times, and overall experience. Remember, this is a ranking of which attractions offer the most value for Priority Pass, not necessarily which rides are the “best” overall.
Least Valuable Priority Pass Attractions
While these attractions offer a great experience, they generally don’t have lengthy lines. Using your Priority Pass on these might not offer as significant a time-saving advantage compared to other options on the list.
6. Star Wars: The Adventures Continue
Sadly, the Star Wars franchise doesn’t have the same widespread appeal in Japan. This attraction generally doesn’t attract long lines, so your Priority Pass may not be necessary here. Consider saving your Priority Pass for other attractions with longer wait times, unless everything else is unavailable.
5. Haunted Mansion
The Haunted Mansion at Tokyo Disneyland is a delightful ride, with a unique charm. However, thanks to its high capacity, this ride typically doesn’t have long lines. While the wait times may be longer during the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay, the experience is still enjoyable even with a standby wait. Reserve your Priority Pass for attractions with longer wait times.
Mid-Tier Priority Pass Attractions
These attractions offer a great balance of enjoyment and potential for longer wait times. They are worth considering for your Priority Pass, especially during peak seasons.
4. Astro Blasters
Astro Blasters is a fun and interactive ride that’s popular among visitors. However, the wait times can be unexpectedly long, especially during peak times. The thrill of battling Zurg may not be worth waiting in a long line. If you’re a huge fan of Astro Blasters, go ahead and snag a Priority Pass. But if you’re on the fence, I recommend saving it for Big Thunder Mountain.
3. Big Thunder Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain is a classic, exhilarating roller coaster that never disappoints. This attraction can draw lengthy queues, and your Priority Pass will significantly reduce your wait time. The best part? Big Thunder Mountain is even more magical during the nighttime hours. If you can strategically book your Priority Pass after sunset, you’ll be rewarded with an unforgettable experience.
Most Valuable Priority Pass Attractions
These attractions offer a fantastic experience, but they are also the most popular in the park, making Priority Pass a game-changer! These are the rides you should prioritize when booking your Priority Passes.
2. Ride & Go Seek: The Great Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
This charming dark ride is a delightful adventure for all ages. The queue is long, but the unique and interactive experience is well worth it. This is a great option to book early in the day to ensure you get the most out of your time.
1. Pooh’s Hunny Hunt
My personal favorite! Pooh’s Hunny Hunt is a groundbreaking attraction with cutting-edge technology that delivers a truly immersive experience. This ride is a must-do, and the lines are notoriously long. Grab a Priority Pass for this attraction right away to secure your spot. I recommend booking a Priority Pass for Pooh’s Hunny Hunt, then purchase Premier Access for Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast for a late morning return window. Finally, secure a Priority Pass for Monsters, Inc. as soon as you’re in line for Hunny Hunt, ensuring that you experience three of Tokyo Disneyland’s best attractions right off the bat.
Prioritize Your Priority Pass
Now that you know which attractions offer the best value for your Priority Pass, make a plan and start booking your experiences. Consider which attractions are at the top of your list and prioritize those. Don’t forget to utilize the app to book your second Priority Pass once you’ve used your first.
