Embark on a journey of discovery through the vibrant metropolis of Tokyo! Whether you’re a seasoned traveler or a first-time visitor, this city offers a wealth of attractions, experiences, and unique opportunities to immerse yourself in Japanese culture.
Independent Exploration and Group Tours
Navigating Tokyo on your own is an exhilarating experience, especially with a trusty guidebook and handy online maps. However, if time is a constraint, consider joining a group tour to maximize your time and explore the city’s highlights.
The Japan Travel Bureau (JTB) presents a range of options, from day tours showcasing iconic landmarks like Tokyo Tower, the Imperial Palace, and Ginza districts to specialized tours exploring vibrant neighborhoods like Akihabara or indulging in cultural experiences like the tea ceremony or sushi making. These tours provide a structured itinerary but often come at a premium and may limit your time for independent exploration. A full-day tour with JTB will set you back approximately ¥12,000 for adults, with children paying half the price. Booking through hotels or travel agencies like JTB is convenient and hassle-free.
While JTB boasts an extensive selection, the Japan Gray Line offers a more limited selection of morning, afternoon, and full-day tours. You can reach them at www.jgl.co.jp/inbound/index.htm or by phone at 03/3595-5939.

These walking tours typically last 2 to 6 hours, utilizing public transportation and spanning a range of prices, from free walking tours of Shinjuku and the food floor of Isetan department store to ¥5,200 for a trip to Mt. Takao outside the city. The cost may be reduced if there are multiple participants.
